On July 19, 2008, Familias Sanas y Activas Promotoras and staff coordinated a family walk at Montgomery Waller Park in San Ysidro. Everyone walked the perimeter of the park, a three-mile distance total. Staff gave a motivational talk to acknowledge each promotora for her efforts. Promotoras Guillermina Macias and Lina Ruiz led participants in a demonstration and took time to answer questions about their classes and the Familias Sanas y Activas program.
