In March of 2008, Familias Sanas y Activas held our first all-promotora gathering. SDPRC staff envisions these types of gatherings will lead to the creation of a Promotora Network, a forum for promotoras to share tips, ideas, and anecdotes about their community work experience. We hope to further connect our Chula Vista and San Ysidro promotora groups through these gatherings as well as other leadership and capacity-building opportunities offered in South Bay. In these photos, you will see motivational speaker Elizabeth Pastrana giving a presentation on how to be an effective community leader. We provided subway sandwiches and healthy drinks!
